We have just returned from spending 10 days
in Krakow Poland helping to lead a team of 16-22 year olds on a short-term
missions experience. One of the things we did while we were there was street
drama.
We spent some time asking God what we
should do and where we should do them. In the end we practiced and did 3
different dramas around the castle. When we prayed and asked God about them, he
told us we were making a declaration of freedom for the place, and that we did
not need to worry about doing it for other people.
After we had done the second drama a number
of people had stopped and started talking to us asking us to do it again, so we
did. It was great fun and the group watching ere really enthusiastic about it,
even shouting out when Jesus came on, and when we finished they cheered. It was
really nice to talk to them afterwards about who Jesus is and sharing with them
the gospel and why we had come to Krakow.
The whole team were really nervous about
going out and doing street drama, but we all felt that this is what God had
asked us to do so we wanted to be obedient above our fear. It was a great
lesson for us all to learn, that when we step out in faith in what God has
asked, all sorts of interesting things happen, and conversations about Jesus
happen easily.
